It is said to be Janyam of Natabhairavi (20th Melakartha Ragam) Arohanam: S R₂ G₂ M₁ P D₂ N₂ Ṡ Avarohanam: S N₂ D₁ P M₁ G₂ R₂ Ṡ The other set of Arohanam and Avarohanam used is: Arohanam: S G₂ R₂ G₂ M₁ P D₂ N₂ Ṡ Avarohanam: Ṡ N₂ D₁ P M₁ G₂ R₂ S While there is a ragam called Bhairavi in Hindustani music, its equivalent is Thodi in Carnatic Music.
