Dhrupad Mela 2018 – Varanasi

Varanasi – Just hearing the name of this divine city makes one hear the temple bells and the sound of river Ganges as she flows through wild rapids and shallow pebbled routes. My recent trip to Varanasi was filled with the wonderful sights of the temples, serenity all around, and the beautiful music from the Dhrupad Mela 2018 at Tulsi Ghat, on the banks of the river Ganga.
This 4 day festival features the best of the country presenting their interpretation of music to a large audience, who stayed through the night to enjoy this aural feast. I had the honour of being a part of this festival along with Mridangam vidwan Shri. Arjun Kumar.
The following day was a SPICMACAY concert for the wonderful students of Arya Mahila PG College, Varanasi.
Here is a feature about this festival from the Hindu.

Enjoy the pictures. Until next time..
